What are Migraines?
Migraines are associated with certain kinds of changes
in brainwaves. The brainwaves during an attack are different
from the brainwaves in between attacks and this difference
may be found on only one side of the brain.
Kinds of Headaches
There are different types of headaches.
Migraine headaches usually
are characterized by throbbing on 1 side of the head.
Dull pounding headaches on both sides
of the head are usually tension headaches.
Neurofeedback for Headaches
Both tension and migraine headaches
have been treated successfully with neurofeedback
Two types of neurofeedback have been used
to treat migraines,
1. Traditional neurofeedback
2. Hemoencephalography
